Humor Me…
I know my daughter is not a huge fan of my sharing stories about her in my sermons, but today, I am going to brag a little bit about her because today, January 30th, is her 24th birthday. Today is only the 2nd time that we have not been with her for her birthday because when she was in college, her birthday was always during the break between Luther College’s J-Term and the start of the spring semester.
The good news is I wasn’t as sad for her, or me today, because she spent last night with one of our friends in Rome, Georgia, who I had met almost forty years ago when I was 24! My friend made sure to make it extra special for her, ordering her favorite selections from Olive Garden and buying a special cake.
Although I moved away from Rome almost thirty-six years ago, I had no idea that my friend and I would remain connected. I am grateful for the continued friendship with someone who has now taken my daughter under her wing.
See you in church!!
