Homecoming!
Last weekend was Oconomowoc High School’s Homecoming. We were blessed with a beautiful day for the parade and game. In the morning I received a phone call from Leslie Boettcher at Shorehaven to let me know there would be a Pep Rally at Shorehaven featuring the OHS Band, members of the football team, cheer squad, and Homecoming Court, along with Rocky Raccoon. It took three buses to get the students to Shorehaven.
During the Pep Rally, the kids were invited to go out into the crowd and chat with some of the residents. I had the opportunity to listen to the conversation between two OHS students and two of our parishioners, Leslie Boettcher and Gordy Zimmerman. It was wonderful to hear the plans of these two students and the comments from Leslie and Gordy. This was a delightful example of how members of a community can come together to celebrate an event like Homecoming.
In the pictures below you will see Leslie and Gordy in conversation with those two young women, along with one of Carol Zeutzius and Rocky.
In addition, I would like to encourage all who can to consider donating to Lutheran Disaster Response or other organizations that are on the ground in one of the six states that have been affected by Hurricane Helene. Please see the information for Lutheran Disaster Response located in this email.
See you in church!!
