Because of God’s Great Mercy: A Stewardship Program for DMLC
Stewardship is the grateful response of a Christian disciple who recognizes and receives God’s gifts and shares these gifts in the love of God and neighbor.
Stewardship is rooted in scripture, recognizing we, as individuals, are not owners of our lives but rather are stewards or managers. Stewardship, quite simply, is recognizing that everything we have and everything we are is a gift from God and being grateful and generous with those gifts.
As a congregation, when we think about stewardship, we ought to consider:
What are we doing within the congregation’s walls to strengthen our faith and minister to others?
What ministries of the congregation address the needs of our community?
What are the ways we support our neighbors near and far? Across the country or around the world, we have an opportunity to give to those in need.
Stewardship is a journey of receiving God’s love and sharing that love with others. We are transformed by the knowledge that Jesus Christ came and that we might have life and have it in abundance.
Let us journey together in faith, may God bless us, and may we respond as faithful stewards.
See you in church!!
