Directions

Have you ever been stopped by someone looking for directions? Some people are averse to answering those kinds of questions, but I relish the opportunity to do just that.

When I was in Door County in September I was riding on Skyline Drive through Peninsula State Park when I happened upon a married couple who had rented some e-bikes and were lost. They had a map but had no idea where they were because they weren’t familiar with the park at all. I was able to show them on the map where we were and where they wanted to go, depending on whether they wanted to continue to their original intended destination or head back the way they came.

In the summer of 2023, I received an email from some friends of a friend asking for suggestions for where to go and what to do in Door County. What fun!! I sent them detailed directions for up and down all of the Door Peninsula along with a map of the park. After their visit, I received an email back with their map, marked with all the places they went and the statement, “It is easy to understand why these are your favorite places.”

Anytime I come into Dr. Martin Luther, I am reminded of why this church is special to me. The people.

If you were asked, “What is it that you like about DMLC?”, what would be your answer?  We might not feel like we have the answers when someone asks us for directions, but I hope when someone asks you about your church, you’ll invite them to come and see for themselves. All are welcome.

See you in church!!
